POSTPONED: Halifax Summer Social June 22, 2023
As you are aware, there is devastating damage across Nova Scotia and Atlantic Canada and out of respect for our members, directors, and friends of WIA, we have made the decision to cancel our summer social axe throwing event. Our plan is to revisit the event in the fall.
Please consider donating to either the Red Cross or other neighbourhood food and clothes drives that are occurring throughout the province.

This project is funded by the Government of Canada through the Federal Economic Development Agency for Southern Ontario (FedDev Ontario). For more information, please visit https://feddev-ontario.canada.ca/en. This program was designed and will be facilitated by Evoke Consulting. Evoke is a training organization who teaches leaders how to feel and project confidence in all interactions. Their team are leading experts in the area of gender diversity. They have designed and implemented women’s leadership programs for global companies across a range of industries. Most importantly, they have been working with Women in Aerospace Canada for four years and understand our business and industry well.
Lunch and Learn Virtual: Hear From A Leader in Advanced Air Mobility – Guillaume Beauchamp of Wisk September 15th 2023
As the Head of Core Engineering, Guillaume Beauchamp leads all Engineering functions as well as Test and Flight Operations at Wisk . Guillaume started his Aerospace career in 2004 at Bombardier and performed a wide range of roles with an increasing level of responsibilities in Conceptual Design, Certification and Sustaining Programs. In 2017, Guillaume joined MITAC in Japan for 3 years and eventually was named the Chief Engineer for the M100 program prior to coming back to North America.
Aerospace Transformation Virtual Lunch and Learn June 26, 2023
Aerospace industry is going through a tectonic change — a transformation from one based on fossil fuel to one that will be powered by clean energy. With the emissions growth, and airports (and flights) at risk of being shut down due to environmental challenges, we must decarbonise aviation.
OAC’s Scholarships for Aerospace Studies – Application Deadline April 25, 2023
The Ontario Aerospace Council is pleased so be able to offer FIVE scholarships for the 2023-2024 Academic Year to students going into or currently enrolled in our aerospace studies program at a post-secondary institution (college or university) in Ontario. The value of each scholarship is $2,500.00 CAD. Application Deadline: April 25, 2023

CRIAQ Scholarship Program for the Next Generation of Women in Aerospace – Deadline April 17, 2023
The present scholarship program aims to encourage the next generation of women to choose or pursue university studies related to aerospace.
This program will provide two scholarships:
1 scholarship of $ 7,500 to encourage a master’s candidate.
1 scholarship of $ 10,000 to encourage a doctoral candidate.

#CalgarytoSpace Launch Party at the University of Calgary March 15th
The “Launch Event” will be held at Hunter Hub Collision Space (HNSC 401) at the University of Calgary Campus. The CalgaryToSpace student team at the University of Calgary, 60-member volunteer team is building the city’s first student spacecraft, which is a small satellite “about the size of a loaf of bread”.

Queen’s University Aerospace Exposition – Aerospace Mentorship Program February 15th, 2023
Queen’s University and Women in Aerospace Canada are partnering to present the first aerospace exposition at Queen’s University. Providing a targeted connection between Aerospace Companies and Organizations with Queens academia and talent, while promoting the experience of women in the aerospace industry. The exposition will be followed by a speed mentoring event providing opportunity for Queen’s students to further explore what it means to work in aerospace.

Girls Can Fly Waterloo Wellington Flight Centre May 13, 2023
The event will be like past events, offering free flights for girls aged 8‐18 years and providing a fun and educational occasion to spark their interest in aviation! The event also features exhibitors from the industry who provide an interactive and engaging experience for attendees of all ages. Last year, WWFC hosted over 1,500 attendees and provided free flights to over 300 potential future female pilots!
