Are you passionate about aerospace and eager to make a difference in promoting diversity and inclusion within the industry? Women in Aerospace Canada (WIA-C) invites you to join our team of dedicated volunteers to help us run our programming and initiatives!

The Women in Aerospace Canada Board of Directors is looking to appoint new members to fill some vacancies. This is an open call to the WIA-Canada membership. The Board will be accepting applications up until 30 April 2024, 5pm Eastern. A list of potential candidates for the Board of Directors will be developed from the submissions and offers will be presented by 31 May 2024.

This exciting event will bring together women from all over Canada who are passionate about aviation. Whether you are a pilot, engineer, air traffic controller, or simply an aviation enthusiast, this conference is for you! Discover inspiring stories from successful women in the industry, participate in engaging workshops, and network with like-minded individuals.

Celebrate International Women’s Day in Calgary with Keynote Speaker Kendra Kincade, President & CEO, Elevate Aviation. Kendra’s journey began with a challenging early life, which ultimately drove her towards a commitment to helping others in their pursuit of self-discovery and success. In 2015 she founded Elevate Aviation after recognizing a glaring gender disparity within the aviation industry. Kendra is an Air Traffic Controller with NAV CANADA, Honorary Colonel of RCAF 417 Helicopter Squadron, Board Chair for the Alberta Aviation Council, Vice Chair for the Strategic Aviation Advisory Council of Alberta, and a Director, Writer, and Executive Producer for “Only Up” a feature length documentary following women in various aviation careers.

International Women’s Day Celebration in Toronto on March 7th, 2024.  Keynote speaker, Janice McDonald is a sought-after speaker, advisor and leadership expert. An award-winning serial entrepreneur, she has expertise in the music industry,  apparel/accessories and start-ups. She has Leadership training from Harvard and INSEAD and she was appointed to Women’s Leadership Board at Harvard Kennedy School.

Based on great feedback from last year’s book club, we will be hosting our 3rd annual Book Club this fall. The purpose of the Book Club is to be a forum for all genders in the Aerospace and other related sectors to discuss their experiences in the workplace. With the help of articles and one book, each session will tackle a particular topic including the importance of diversity, equality, the importance of women in the Aerospace (and other related sectors), and challenges under-represented groups may face in the workforce today.
