Leadership development built for women in aerospace
PropelHER: Leaders in Aerospace is De Havilland Canada’s initiative to empower women in Canada’s aerospace sector through mentorship and career advancement. Participants are matched with dedicated mentors, follow training tailored to their goals, and work toward the next step in their careers with the support of the company behind them.
The program grew out of the Women in Aerospace at De Havilland Canada initiative, launched on International Women’s Day 2023 in partnership with WIA-Canada. That first six-month program brought together women from the Calgary, Victoria and Toronto offices for leadership training, mentorship with members of the executive team, in-person events, exposure to industry experts and funding for self-directed learning.
72 graduates have completed the program so far. Many have been promoted, and others have found career paths that line up with where they want to go.
Three pillars of the program
Every cohort is built around the same three commitments, adapted to each participant’s role and ambitions.
Dedicated mentorship
Each participant is paired with a mentor who opens doors, shares hard-won experience and keeps the conversation going well beyond the program.
