Silvia Bianchi

Chair

Silvia Bianchi is the Director of Aircraft Architecture at Deutsche Aircraft, based in Munich, Germany. Silvia’s passion for Aerospace has led to a truly global career, gaining professional experience in Canada, the USA, Italy, South Africa, and Japan. With a strong focus on leading multinational aerospace product  development teams, Silvia worked for companies such as Ferrari, Mitsubishi and Bombardier. Notable products include the Ferrari Enzo, the award-winning Diamond DA42, Bombardier Global 7500.

Silvia holds the Advanced Management Program from Harvard Business School, a master’s degree in Aeronautical Engineering from the University of Pisa, a Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Kansas, and an MBA from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Additionally, Silvia is a designated PMP and registered professional engineer in Canada.

Silvia is a Fellow of the Royal Aeronautical Society and an Associate Fellow of Canadian Aeronautics and Space institute, a mentor of the Space Generation Advisory Council and of the Royal Aeronautical Society (ALTA). She is one of the founding members of the Women in Aerospace Europe working group created to increase the number of women in C-Suite. Silvia has been also selected as Mentor for the Space4Women Mentorship Program created by the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA). Silvia is the Director of the Board of Harvard Aerospace & Defense Alumni Organization (HADAO). Silvia is also the Chair of the G100 Space Technology and Aviation Wing for the country of Canada .

Silvia is the winner of the Global Women in Leadership Awards 2022 by the Global Council for the Promotion of International Trade, as well as the Glass Breaker Sisterhood award at the Leading Ladies of Aerospace Annual Summit 2023.

In October 2023, Silvia was also awarded the prize “ Iconic Women creating a better world for all “ at the Women Economic forum for all the work on Women ( and other underrepresented groups) economic development in STEM.

Always a keen student of culture and language, Silvia holds a black belt in Japanese Calligraphy, and is currently studying German and Japanese.
