Women in Aerospace Canada (WIA-C) is seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to fill the role of Executive Director. This is a unique opportunity to lead a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing women’s careers in the aerospace sector and promoting gender equality within the industry.

About Women in Aerospace Canada:
WIA-C is a non-profit organization committed to empowering women in the aerospace sector through networking, mentorship, professional development, and advocacy initiatives. Our mission is to create a supportive and inclusive environment where women can thrive and excel in their aerospace careers.

Role Overview:
As the Executive Director, you will be responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to WIA-C, overseeing day-to-day operations, and driving the organization’s growth and impact. Key responsibilities include:

Developing and implementing strategic plans and initiatives to advance WIA-C’s mission and objectives.

Building and maintaining partnerships with industry stakeholders, government agencies, and other organizations to support WIA-C’s programs and activities.

Managing the organization’s finances, including budgeting, fundraising, and grant applications.

Leading and managing a team of volunteers to execute WIA-C’s programs, events, and projects.

Representing WIAC at conferences, events, and meetings to raise awareness and advocate for gender equality in the aerospace sector.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a leadership role, preferably within the non-profit sector or related industry.
  • Strong strategic planning and organizational skills, with the ability to set goals, develop plans, and track progress.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Experience in financial management, including budgeting, fundraising, and grant writing.
  • Knowledge of the aerospace industry and/or experience working with women in STEM fields is an asset.

Position Details:

Type: Full Time Contract
Location: Canada (Remote with some travel to attend events)
Duration: 2-year contract with possibility of renewal
Compensation: Competitive hourly rate commensurate with experience
