CRIAQ 2024 Scholarship Competition Deadline: April 12, 2024

The Consortium for Aerospace Research and Innovation in Quebec (CRIAQ) aims to stimulate diversity, creativity, talent development, and the emergence of innovative individuals and technological entrepreneurs. For its 4th edition, the annual scholarship program is dedicated to encourage the next generation of women to choose or pursue aerospace-related university studies. This program will grant a total of six scholarships.

Scholarship Program Details

The mission of CRIAQ is to enhance the competitiveness of the aerospace industry by stimulating business innovation through collaborative R&D. This mission is accomplished through an ecosystem that brings together diverse talents and fosters entrepreneurship in technology. Equity, diversity, and inclusion principles are pillars of such an ecosystem.

This scholarship program aims to encourage the next generation of women to choose or pursue aerospace-related university studies.

This program will grant six scholarships:

  • 3 scholarships of $10,000 to encourage three master’s candidates
  • 3 scholarships of $15,000 to encourage three doctoral candidates

  • Annie Ross, Deputy Director of Research at Polytechnique Montréal
  • Manon Gaudet, Deputy Director of Air Cybersecurity at the International Air Transport Association (IATA)
  • Marie-Pierre Habas-Gérard,  Chief Executive – ConfianceIA

Eligibility

At the time of applying for the scholarship program, the candidate must be enrolled or in the process of admission for a study program by no later than the fall semester of 2024.

Their study program must:

  • Lead to a master’s degree (for master’s scholarship candidates) or a doctoral degree (for doctoral scholarship candidates)
  • Be in the field of science, technology, engineering, or mathematics related to aerospace and sustainable air mobility of the future
  • Be offered by a university located in Quebec

Evaluation Criteria

  • Quality of the candidate’s academic record and potential to pursue studies
  • Candidate’s motivation
  • Peer recommendation
  • Social involvement, leadership, communication skills

Application Submission and Additional Information

The candidate must complete the application form and provide the following documentation no later than April 12, 2024, at 4:00 PM EST.

The following documents, in Word or PDF format, must be sent to bourses@criaq.aero :

  1. Completed application form (note that this form requests a single motivation letter of approximately two pages, including a description of the intended career path and the relevance of studies to aerospace)
  2. A curriculum vitae of maximum two (2) pages, in regular letter format (not legal size)
  3. A recent transcript from the current educational institution
  4. Proof of application or enrollment for the study program described in the “Eligibility Criteria” section
  5. A letter of support from an official representative (researcher, professor, department head) endorsing the candidacy

Documents may be submitted in French or English.

Candidates may submit unofficial documents at the time of application (not signed by the registrar). If the application is successful, the granting of scholarships is conditional upon the submission of official documents.

Missing information, a missing document, or a document not meeting the required format above may result in the candidacy being deemed ineligible.

Selection Process and Additional Information

Each application will be reviewed by a selection committee composed of individuals involved in collaborations at CRIAQ. Results will be communicated by CRIAQ towards the end of May.

Recipients must be available by video conference or in person (to be determined) on June 19, 2024 (schedule to be announced) to attend the CRIAQ Annual General Meeting (AGM), during which the scholarships will be unveiled.

By accepting a scholarship, a student agrees to allow CRIAQ to use their name and photo to promote the Program.
