Speed Mentoring provides a tremendous opportunity for those in the early or mid-stages of their career to engage in short 15-minute conversations with talented senior leaders from various organizations in the aerospace, defence and security industry. During these short sessions, mentees will have the opportunity to receive one-on-one advice on career development and life management that will yield a valuable learning experience.
2021 Elsie Awards Gala October 16th – Tickets on Sale
The Northern Lights Aero Foundation is delighted to announce that our annual Elsie Awards Gala honouring outstanding Canadian women who have made contributions to aviation and aerospace will take place on Saturday October 16th. Named after aviation trailblazer and human rights advocate Elsie Gregory MacGill, the Elsie Award recognizes eight outstanding women across seven categories: Business, Education, Engineering, Flight Operations, Government, Trailblazer, and Rising Star.

CCAA New Occupational Standards Development Opportunity
The Canadian Council for Aviation & Aerospace (CCAA) is in development of three (3) new national occupational standards in response to industry demand and the requirements of the changing workforce in follow up to the CCAA Occupational standards survey completed January 2020. CCAA has awarded a contract to Human Resources Systems Group (HRSG) to develop new National Occupational Standards (NOCs) for the following positions:
LGBTQ2+ in Advanced Air Mobility: Building a Brave New Industry Together August 19th
Women and Drones, Canadian Advanced Air Mobility Consortium (CAAM) and Pride at Work Canada warmly invite you to join us for a moderated dialogue about how to set up this new industry with inclusivity and equity in mind.
How can companies create and educate allies in the workspace? What can we learn from traditional aerospace and apply to AAM? What is brave leadership and why is it needed in today’s industries? What can new graduates expect from upper management and a new work environment?
This event, as one part of an annual three-part series including women in AAM and indigenous peoples, strives to move this conversation forward as we build this new industry together. This is an online event featuring a keynote fireside chat followed by three discussion topics: Inclusion in Aviation Today, Leading with Language, and Small Steps Towards Brave Leadership.
OAC Scholarships for Aerospace Studies – Apply by July 10th
The Ontario Aerospace Council is pleased to be able to offer FOUR scholarships for the 2021 – 2022 Academic Year for students going into or currently enrolled in an aerospace studies program at a post-secondary institution (college or university) in Ontario. The value of each scholarship is $2,500.00 CAD.

Women in Advanced Air Mobility Big Ideas to Build a New Industry – May 20th Webinar
Join us for a moderated dialogue about this new industry. How will companies fill talent shortages? What career opportunities await young people? Countless studies have shown that the more diverse a workforce is, the more successful it is. As we stand on the threshold of building the Advanced Air Mobility ecosystem from the ground up, how do we eradicate historic injustices and offer equal opportunity to all?
This online event features a keynote fireside chat followed by topical discussions on opportunities for the Advanced Air Mobility industry. Breakout discussions will be hosted by a small group of speakers, either in a traditional panel discussion or a more conversational exploratory dialogue with opportunities for engagement through Q&A.

Catalyst Canada and WIA Canada Virtual Workshops April 14 and May 12
Women in Aerospace Canada and Catalyst Canada are excited to offer the opportunity to join us for two upcoming virtual workshops. These workshops were made possible through a very generous grant from the RBC Foundation. The RBC Foundation is seeking to play a more prominent role in advancing women in Canada. To do so, it has provided funding to Catalyst to offer some of our learning and training programs to groups across Canada.
DAIR Project Pitch Session – March 31, 2021 Free Virtual Event
This FREE virtual event will bring together 4 academic members – the University of Toronto, Ryerson University, Centennial College, and York University – to showcase trailblazing R&D projects they are initiating and opportunities for collaboration and new partnerships.
