WIA-Canada Board of Directors
The Women in Aerospace Canada Board of Directors is looking to appoint new members to fill some vacancies. This is an open call to the WIA-Canada membership. The Board will be accepting applications up until 11 February 2021, 5pm ET. A list of potential candidates for the 2021 Board of Directors will be developed from the submissions and offers will be presented by 26 February 2021.
To be considered for the Board, you must have a WIA-Canada membership in good standing. You must embody the core values of the organization and be committed to growing and strengthening the community we serve in fulfilling our mission and objectives.
The Board strives to ensure diversity in terms of sector experience, regional representation, ethnicity and gender. There is a particular interest in skills and experience related to social media, event planning, outreach, and sponsorship. The Board is a working board, made up entirely of volunteers. It is important that Board members are committed to attend all monthly Board meetings as well as planned events. Other responsibilities include:
- Plan and initiate activities
- Ensure adequate financial resources and provide proper financial oversight
- Enhance the organization’s public standing by articulating the organization’s mission and goals to the aerospace community
- Monitor effectiveness of programs to ensure consistency with our mission statement.
