Join us for a meet and greet with our very special guest speaker!
Join us for an inaugural kick-off meet and greet with our very special guest speaker – Lieutenant Colonel (ret’d) Maryse Carmichael, Canada’s first female Snowbird pilot and the world’s first female pilot on a jet demonstration team, will share her journey, experiences and lessons learned in aviation, leadership and teamwork. From flying gliders to becoming the first female to command the Snowbirds – Canada’s elite Air Demonstration Team – Carmichael’s philosophy of pursuing excellence, following your passion and never stop learning will inspire women of all ages.
Identify, foster and promote the interests and professional development of women working in the aerospace industry and other related sectors.Now in the Maritimes, Women in Aerospace Canada (www.wia-canada.org) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to expanding women’s opportunities for leadership and professional development as well as increasing their visibility in the aerospace community by creating a professional network in Canada and across the globe.
Our objectives include:
- To be a networking platform for women and men in the aerospace industry and other sector areas related to aerospace.
- Advance aerospace education for women in schools, colleges, and universities.
- Develop alliances with aerospace associations (provincially, federally and internationally) and other relevant associations across Canada and globally.
